About

Welcome to the Uptown Charlotte Republicans!

The Uptown Charlotte Republicans (UCR) was created in 2019 to allow busy working professional conservatives a chance to network with fellow conservatives in a casual, happy hour setting. No drama, no fuss, no agenda. Just likeminded conservatives gathering to enjoy a cocktail, enjoy a bite and to talk with one another before getting back to our households!

Our mission is to promote Republican values with conservatives in a fun and casual happy hour setting throughout the Uptown Charlotte area. Our group is proud to partner with the Mecklenburg County Republican Party. Dues are $25 for members (Republicans registered in Mecklenburg County) and associate members (Republicans registered outside of Mecklenburg County). 100% of your dues go to local efforts to get Republicans elected! Click on the join page to become a member!

The group meets the 2nd Wednesday of the month from 6-8pm at rotating locations around Uptown, Dilworth, Elizabeth, NoDa, Plaza Midwood, Cotswold and near light rail stops. Be sure and check here to find out where the next month's event will be!

The UCR holds its annual meeting on the 2nd Wednesday of each January, where we elect new leadership. If you would like to serve in leadership or on our social committee, please contact us!

Breaking News!

Effective June 9, 2021 we are now the Uptown Charlotte Republicans! Our club voted unanimously to change its bylaws and move from the Uptown Charlotte Republican Women to the Uptown Charlotte Republicans. This move allows us to be a co-ed neighborhood club, with 100% of our focus being on networking and ways to support Republicans in the greater Uptown area. Any registered Republican residing in Mecklenburg County can be a member now - and anyone residing outside of Mecklenburg County can still be an associate member! Help us become the largest Republican presence in the Queen City!

We Shine Like Gold!

Congratulations to our club for achieving the National Federation of Republican Women's Gold Club Achievement Award for 2020! We were only a member of the national federation for ONE YEAR and still able to receive the 2nd highest club award in just 365 days! While we decided to go coed in 2021, this is an amazing accomplishment for a club that didn't even start meeting until July of 2019 and charter until January 2020.

Way to go 2020 members!

Uptown Women are Servant Leaders in our Backyard

THANK YOU to everyone that contributed to our Uptown tent community supply drive. Earlier this spring we were able to present a direct donation of $5,000 from Tea Fusion Cafe to Hearts for the Invisible Charlotte Coalition. At our April meeting we presented an entire SUV worth of tent city supplies to HFTIC's Executive Director Jessica Lefkowitz as well as a $270 Visa gift card to be used to help support their brand new Hearts House for Men!

Congrats to Our MeckGOP Board!

A HUGE congratulations are in order for our very own President Sarah Reidy-Jones, who was elected as the next MeckGOP Chair!!! Sarah built this club and has served as our President since its founding. We know that she will do awesome things leading the MeckGOP!

In addition, Uptown members also elected include Secretary Wendy Fontela, Campaigns Chair Amy Bynum, Headquarters Chair Linda Sullivan, Recruitment Chair Lee Ann Patton, Public Relations Chair Mallory Finch and Voter Registration Co-Chair Morgan Squatriglia. Associate Member Eva Massi was elected Voter Registration Co-Chair.

We are so proud of all of these amazing Uptown Women, a club just charted by the National Federation of Republican Women in JUNE!, and can't wait to work alongside the MeckGOP!
